Noel A. Poirier is a board certified licensed acupuncturist. Noel is a graduate of The New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) earning a Masters degree in Acupuncture with a concentration in Chinese Acupuncture. NESA is the oldest acupuncture graduate school in the United States. The Masters in Acupuncture Program is a rigorous three-year clinical training program that includes the study of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine fundamentals. Noel gained a wide variety of experience through his clinical rotations in Pediatrics, Geriatrics, and Orthopedic Medicine.

In his clinical work with the Integrative Medicine Department at Boston Medical Center, Noel has had the unique opportunity to work with pediatric inpatients in age range from newborn through adolescence. His work at Boston Medical Center has given him experience treating a wide variety of childhood diseases including; cardiovascular problems, sickle cell crisis, digestive disorders, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and a variety of respiratory illnesses including asthma. Noel thoroughly enjoys working with children and watching the amazing transformation, and development that occurs during the course of their treatment.

Noel has treated patients with acupuncture in a Community Based Health Clinic in Lynn MA. This geriatric clinic is focused on underserved populations of the North Shore. At the clinic Noel treated patients who would not normally get the opportunity to utilize acupuncture in their healthcare. This patient population is comprised of patients with chronic ailments including; stroke, memory loss, balance, diminished vision, neuropathy, pain, and depression. The long-term nature of the clinic allowed Noel to track the progress of his patients over the course of several months.

Noel has trained in Orthopedic Acupuncture and Kinesiology Taping. These techniques promote recovery and healing after injury. Acupuncture and bodywork can also be used to prevent injury from occurring so athletes can compete at their highest performance level. Noel has had experience in treating a variety of muscular skeletal issues and sports injuries using both bodywork and acupuncture. A unique aspect of the NESA program that Noel has taken advantage of is electing to incorporate Bodywork into his training.

Additionally, Noel has studied and trained with Tom Tam in the Tam Healing System. In 2010 he became a certified Tong Ren Practitioner. Through his work at the Collective Healing Center Noel has gained valuable experience and training in this unique approach to treatment.

Prior to becoming an Acupuncturist, Noel worked as a Mechanical Engineer for several years in the field of Building Consulting. Noel obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Noel now applies his knowledge of engineering to the human body.
